thanks again, carole...for being awesome

It's raining and gross outside, but I heard this song on the way into work and it instantly made my day better...

Way over yonder is a place that I know

Where I can find shelter from hunger and cold

And the sweet tasting good life is easily found

Way over yonder, that's where I'm bound

I know when I get there, the first thing I'll see

Is the sun shining golden, shining right down on me
Then trouble's gonna lose me, worry leave me behind
And I'll stand up proudly in true peace of mind

Way over yonder is a place I have seen
In a garden of wisdom from some long ago dream

(Insert mean sax solo here)

Maybe tomorrow I'll find my way
To the land where the honey runs in rivers each day
And the sweet tasting good life is so easily found
Way over yonder, that's where I'm bound
Way over yonder, that's where I'm bound

Why do I like it besides the lyrics and the fact that the title is the phrase Way Over Yonder? Her rendition is so, SO soulful. But Beth, you always say that about her...and I mean it. What can you say? The woman's got soul. I mean this song really reminds me of an old gospel song, and that makes me smile.

Her live performance of this song at Carnegie Hall in 1971 compliments of yours truly.
